Ward Halloween Party

Our ward does this great Halloween party every year. So, we all dressed up and even Chris and Katie and fam and Tim and Wendy and fam came too.

Eli was a cute little frog and Ethan was superman( - they both picked out their own costumes this year. I spent a little more money than I wanted to on buying them, but they both wanted them so badly, so I figured 'why not'!) I bought Tim's costume last year on clearance and he was a good sport to wear it - I guess it was really hot! I had the witch costume, so there ya go!

Ethan's First Day of Preschool

Ethan had his first day of preschool on Oct. 29, 2009. This is actually his second year of preschool. He is going to the Alta High School preschool program. It is kind of fun, because I went to Alta for high school. He loves the program. Each child is assigned one student teacher to help them. So, it is a one-on-one ratio and the kids can learn at their own pace and interest. Ethan's new teacher is Sara and he already loves her. I can't believe how grown up my little boy is getting!! He had so much fun on his first day of school - I think he was a little wild! Sara said he was a little more calm the second day!! :)

Halloween Fun

So, this post tells about a few of the things we have done to celebrate Halloween this year!! I just love Halloween and it is especially fun now that the kids are old enough to enjoy it with me!
Halloween Family Party!!

So, the other night I wanted to have our own little Halloween party. We made mummy wrapped hotdogs and spooky bug jello and made paper bag witch puppets. We all had a great time! It was fun having some family time doing some great Halloween stuff!
Making the witch puppets. Eli even did a great job and Ethan was so creative!!!

Secret Boo Cookies!!!

So, we made a ton of cookies and secretly took them around to several neighbors and friends with a little "BOO" paper explaining that they had been "BOO-ed." Now, they get to be a secret phantom and take cookies to more friends with a copy of the Boo paper. The boys loved being secret Boo spies and putting cookies on the door step and then running and hiding while they opened the door! We got caught a couple times. Eli didn't quite understand how to be quiet, but it was still fun!

Halloween at Wheeler Farm

Well, we just love Wheeler Farm, especially in the Fall. They had a little hay maze set up and the boys loved finding their way through it. The nice men running it even let us in for free since I had no cash on me. That really made our day, especailly since it is normally $3/person - yikes!! Ethan really enjoyed being the leader and helping Eli and me through the maze!!

Ethan saying,"Follow me guys!!"

Carving Pumpkins

Ethan and Eli did great at this. They helped pull out all the gooey stuff inside and then we designed our pumpkin faces and I did most of the cutting.

Don't my boys look good!?!

Halloween Cookies
A couple weeks ago, Ethan and I made some suger cookies and decorated them like pumpkins. Ethan is a good little cook and a really good cookie decorator. He is especially good at eating the cookies too!

The Pumpkin Patch!!

We went to a local pumpkin patch 2 weeks ago to get ready for the Halloween season. The kids love going to the pumpkin patch and picking out the best pumpkins to carve. We went with Chris and Katie and their kids as well. Ethan and Daniel had a great time exploring the patch to find just the right one!
Eli is ready to go with a wheel barrel full of pumpkins!

Ethan and Daniel trying to lift the huge pumpkin. It was fun to watch their team work.

Eli liked to sit and climb on the pumpkins - what a cutie!!

Home For Sale!

Well, we put our house on the market 3 weeks ago. We are excited for anew change, but sad to see old friends and neighbors go. We have loved our house and hope that some new people will love it like we have. We have had quite a few people look at the house, but no offers yet! Keep your fingers crossed that we can sell our house in this crazy market!

Ethan's Soccer Season

Well, I am a little behind. Ethan's soccer season came and went. He had 2 games a week and they lasted for about a month. He had a great time and really enjoyed being able to play on the same team as his cousin Daniel. It was really fun watching him progress through the season. At first, he would just run around following the clump of kids and the ball. He didn't want to get too involved, but he knew he was supposed to look like he was playing :).
Grandma and Grandpa were great supporters and came to a few games. At one game, Grandpa had a brilliant idea. He told Ethan to kick the ball 2 times. So, I guess that was all he needed was a task to complete - sure enough he ran out there and kicked the ball 2 times. Then Grandpa said, "I will give you a pistachio nut for every time you kick the ball." Well, Ethan (and Grandpa) love pistachio nuts, so Ethan ran out on the field and kicked away. At his last game he kicked the ball over 45 times - we kind of last count, he was kicking it soooo much!
I think he really enjoyed soccer, but after his last game, he told me he was ready to have soccer be over and take a break from it for a while! I was ready for it to be over too - the games were getting really cold and 2 games a week just adds up! Good job Ethan on your first season of soccer!!!

Ethan's Music Class

Ethan started taking a music class about a month ago on Monday afternoons. It is called "Up With Kids" and they put together a whole show with singing, dancing, and acting. Their show is called The Wonderfully Wicked Wizard of Oz. It is a combination of The Wizard of Oz and Wicked. Ethan just loves the class and is catching on so quickly. He has learned nearly all of the songs and does the dances really well. It is fun to see him enjoy and thrive in a medium that I also love so much :)! They put on the show in May sometime. Here are some pictures from his class and a little video clip. The teacher, Miss Melodie, taught them this dance that day and the kids all did a great job doing it after having just learned it. Ethan is on the front row in his blue soccer shirt :) - we went to a soccer game right after the class :).

It's A Girl!!!

Well, I had my 20 week ultra sound on Oct. 2. The baby measures totally healthy. It was amazing to see such detail as the different ventricles of the heart or the little tiny lips. After finding out the baby was doing great, we found some more exciting news- we are having a baby girl!!! We are very excited to have a little girl join our family - and now I get to go shopping for some fun pink stuff :)!!!
